ethics and the law

first line, chapter one of my textbook reads:

there is the well recognised difference between assisting a client to break the law and the professional duty when acting on a client's instructions to find a loophole in the law.

its something i always knew, but to see it in print as a part of materials which are examinable in a course about ethics.. well.

no wonder there are so many lawyer jokes.
