detashment [de·tash·ment]

n.
1. tash engaged in the act of detaching.
2. tash in the condition of being detached.
3. tash's aloofness, as from worldly affairs or from the concerns of others.
4. tash's freedom from prejudice or partiality.

when the phrase detashment was first coined by a certain love of my life, i was utterly flattered. the thought that they thought there was some validity to it really made me hopeful. however, i quickly realised that detashment was a (lifelong) journey (conquest if you like), rather than a reality.

and its times like these that i find myself lugging massive baggage on this path of detashment. sure i shouldn't complain, but i will anyhow. not now, but definitely in posts to come. promise.

Detashment is hard for the best of men, at the best of times.

For Tash, by virtue of her name, it is virtually impossible.
