well i used to have the same thoughts during the season (and the previous seasons) with people who are not "australian" being on australian idol. then i thought to myself that i consider myself to be very much australian and if anyone tried to kick me of australian idol (not that i would ever enter) for not being australian then i wouldnt be too happy. so maybe its good because australia is a very multi-cultural country...
okay people.. stop making me out to be an un-PC racist.
im all for the mix.. its just confusing.
plus, its not like he's an irish australian.. he's just irish. he's not an aussie citizen. im not saying that's bad. its cool! awesome! just wow, confusing!
jees. this is MY blog. i dont have to justify ANYTHING PEOPLE.
How does an aussie girl wind up eating a falafel on the midday metro to Tahrir square? My parents were born and raised in Egypt, and yet I could never work out how to spell it.
I was a practicing solicitor, and yet I felt I hadn't found my career path.
It was time to put two and two together.
So. I quit the city job, hung up my suits, had one long last gaze at the glorious Sydney skyline, and never looked back.
And here I am. Living in Cairo. Student at the AUC, enrolled in the two-year masters course of International and Comparative Law.
Am I excited? UM NO! I'm terrified!
